In a press release, NWU President General Tyrone G. Maynard confirmed that the increase will be spread over three years – 4% in Year One, 4% in Year Two, and 3% in Year Three.

Employees will also see enhanced working conditions. The breakfast allowance has been raised to $20, while a new lunch and dinner allowance of $35.00 has been introduced.

The call-back provision has been increased from 2 to 4 hours, and employees with over 11 years of service are now entitled to 24 working days of leave.

The NWU said the revised conditions will take effect shortly, while all arrangements are being made for the official signing of the industrial agreement.
