Coca-Cola Beverages Africa in Namibia has introduced its annual Under the Cap promotion to the media, offering consumers across the country a chance to win a share of N$1 million in cash prizes.
The nationwide campaign, which runs from 1 September to 31 December, recorded over 100 000 entries in its first fortnight.
More than 6 800 Namibians have won prizes through the promotional drive over the last two years, including home appliances, airtime and cash. This year’s competition focuses on cash giveaways, featuring weekly prizes of N$5 000 and a final grand prize of N$50 000.
To participate, consumers must purchase any marked plastic bottle of Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Fanta, Sprite, Twist, Sparletta or Stoney in sizes ranging from 330ml to 2 litres.
Participants then dial 14245845# and submit the unique code found under the bottle’s yellow cap. Each entry costs N$2.00.
Speaking at the media launch in Windhoek, senior manager for marketing at the Coca-Cola East and Central Africa Franchise, Faith Nehanda, said the promotion aims to appreciate local support.
“We’re excited to reward our loyal consumers in Namibia with their share of N$1 million in cash prizes,” Nehanda said.
Coca-Cola sales director Maguire Mulder encourages more people to take part in the competition.
