Parents can get a break on paying sales taxes on kids’ clothing, supplies, computers and other back-to-school items this weekend.
From 12:01 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, through midnight Sunday, Aug. 9, qualifying purchases of clothing, school supplies, computers and certain other items will be exempt from Missouri state and local sales taxes.
The tax holiday applies to all qualifying purchases, including those made by Missouri residents, out-of-state shoppers and online customers, provided the items meet the requirements established by state law.
Qualifying purchases include clothing costing $100 or less per item, school supplies costing up to $50 per purchase and personal computers priced at $1,500 or less.
