The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) says a sweeping island-wide crime operation has dealt a significant blow to violent criminal activity after officers seized seven illegal firearms, more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition, and dozens of dangerous weapons during a six-week intelligence-led crackdown.
Dubbed Operation Zero Hour, the initiative was launched between May 24 and July 1, 2026 in response to an increase in serious and violent crime across Saint Lucia, particularly offences involving illegal firearms, narcotics, dangerous weapons, and organized criminal activity.
The operation brought together officers from the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit, Special Services Unit, Division of Road Safety and Traffic Investigations, Police Marine Unit, Criminal Investigations Department, Vulnerable Persons Team, Patrol Teams, and police divisions across the north, central and south of the island.

According to the RSLPF, officers searched 484 individuals, stopped 4,851 vehicles, searched 216 vehicles, executed 49 search warrants, conducted 37 vessel inspections, and carried out 17 premises searches during the operation.
The enforcement drive resulted in 16 drug-related arrests, seven firearm arrests, 12 arrests for offences including murder, attempted murder, robbery and assault, and 12 criminal charges. Police also impounded 48 vehicles, issued 453 traffic tickets, made nine traffic-related arrests, and conducted three cannabis eradication exercises.
Among the most significant seizures were seven illegal firearms, 1,006 rounds of ammunition, and 54 dangerous weapons, discoveries police say have likely prevented future acts of violence.
The RSLPF described the operation as a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing and coordinated enforcement. Officials said the sustained police presence disrupted criminal networks, strengthened public safety, and reinforced confidence in law enforcement’s ability to respond decisively to emerging threats.
Police have thanked the officers who participated in the operation, praising their professionalism and commitment to protecting communities across the island.
The RSLPF is encouraging anyone with information on criminal activity to contact the nearest police station, call the Crime Hotline at 555, or submit information through the Crime Hotline App.
