By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police are looking for a San Jose Village man after a physically incapacitated resident was chopped on the Philip Goldson Highway Sunday night.
According to the report, a 43 year old unemployed man was heading home in his wheelchair around 9:45pm when he heard someone call his name in front of a church in the village.
He turned and saw a man he has known for more than 20 years, dressed in a black shirt and red short pants, holding two machetes.
The man approached and began lashing him all over his body with one of the machetes, leaving two cut wounds to the head, one to the back and another above the right ear, along with bruises to the left wrist.
The attacker ran off when neighbours came out to assist. An ambulance took the injured man to the Northern Regional Hospital for treatment.
His injuries were certified as wounding by a doctor.
The complainant told police that street lights in the area were bright and he positively recognised his attacker. William Suchete of San Jose Village is wanted for the offence.
