By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): STEM U Foundation is accepting registration for its adult evening welding programme, starting August 31.
The 16 week course offers hands on training in MIG (GMAW) and Stick (SMAW) welding, with certification opportunity in two positions.
Two schedule options are available. Option one runs Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 6pm to 8pm. Option two runs Saturdays from 1pm to 6pm. Both come to six hours per week.
The cost is BZ$1,150, with a payment plan available.
Classes are held at the STEM U Welding Lab at St. Ignatius High School, and enrolment is capped at 18 seats.
Welding remains one of the trades where skill translates directly into income, both in Belize and abroad, and certification opens doors that experience alone does not.
