Irie Ites & Riddim Factory - Sacrament Riddim
The Sacrament Riddim is a brand new roots reggae juggling project by Riddim Factory in collaboration with France’s renowned Irie Ites Records, which is handling the production and distribution of the release. Built around a traditional herb-inspired theme, the project gathers a strong line-up of Jamaican and international artists voicing a heavyweight roots backdrop.

Based in Le Mans, France, Riddim Factory is known both as a backing band and production outfit within the European reggae circuit, working alongside a variety of established reggae artists. For the Sacrament Riddim project, the collective joins forces with fellow French reggae powerhouse Irie Ites Records, one of Europe’s most respected reggae labels.

Since its launch in 2001, Irie Ites has collaborated with a long list of reggae heavyweights including Sizzla, Capleton, Anthony B, Morgan Heritage, Chezidek, Lutan Fyah, Bounty Killer and John Holt. Among the label’s notable releases are the acclaimed Still Chanting Rub-A-Dub project with U Brown and the long-running Cream Of The Crop compilation series.

Irie Ites Records launched the campaign earlier this year with the release of Jah Mason’s Puff Puff Puff and Stinging Ray’s Forbidden Herbz. On October 2, the spotlight shifted to Anthony B with the release of Gimme The Weed, accompanied by an official music video.

Few artists have remained as consistently active as Anthony B. More than three decades after bursting onto the scene, the veteran singjay continues to deliver conscious reggae music at a prolific pace. Earlier this year he added another chapter to his extensive catalogue with the release of the album World Of Love, issued through Born Fire Music and Ineffable Records. Read our full review of Anthony B’s World Of Love.

The rollout continues on October 9 with Highest by Micah Shemaiah. Check out our review of Natural Is The Mystic.Widely regarded as one of the strongest voices of the current roots revival, Micah Shemaiah brings his trademark blend of spirituality, consciousness and traditional reggae values to the riddim.

A week later, on October 16, reggae veteran Chezidek steps forward with First Class. Earlier this year, the celebrated singer released the album Marijuana Prayer via Tad’s Record, a set that once again highlighted his enduring commitment to cultural and conscious reggae themes. The project reaches its final stage on October 23 with the release of the full Sacrament Riddim EP.
