International News: United States of America celebrates 250th Anniversary of U.S. Independence

By Zoila Palma:  U.S. President Donald Trump has officially proclaimed July 4, 2026, as the 250th Anniversary of the Adoption of the Declaration of Independence, marking a major milestone in American history.

In the proclamation, Trump called on Americans to celebrate the nation’s founding and honor what he described as the country’s “glorious heritage, history, and accomplishments.”

Reflecting on the events of July 4, 1776, Trump declared,

“With a single sheet of parchment and 56 signatures, America began the greatest political journey in human history.”

The proclamation recounts the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the sacrifices made by the nation’s founders and Revolutionary War patriots in securing American liberty.

Trump also praised the enduring ideals of the Declaration, stating that the signers pledged themselves to the principle that

“All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, and that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”

The document highlights America’s growth from 13 colonies into a global power, citing achievements in industry, science, technology, and space exploration.

Looking toward the future, Trump said his administration would continue to pursue what he called a “new American Golden Age.” He emphasized goals such as strengthening national sovereignty, advancing artificial intelligence and space exploration, expanding economic prosperity, and restoring law and order across the country.

In closing, Trump urged Americans to commemorate the historic anniversary with pride and gratitude.

“Today, as one American People, we celebrate and carry forward the spirit our Founders kindled in Philadelphia and enshrined in the Declaration of Independence — and with God’s help, we will prevail in making our beloved Nation stronger, prouder, richer, and greater than ever before.”
