Hot Monday ahead as inland Belize climbs to 97 degrees

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Hot and mostly dry weather will continue over Belize today, with some changes likely tonight, according to the National Meteorological Service.

Expect mostly sunny and hot conditions through the day with only isolated showers or thunderstorms developing.

Tonight will be cloudy at times with a few showers and thunderstorms mainly over southern and central portions of the country.

Inland temperatures will climb to 97 degrees Fahrenheit before dropping to 74 overnight. The coast reaches 90 with a low of 82, while the hills stay at 84 and fall to 68.

At sea, easterly winds will blow at 10 to 15 knots with a light chop and waves of 2 to 4 feet.

Tuesday and Tuesday night will continue warm with only isolated showers or thunderstorms, with a chance for a few more over the extreme south Tuesday night.

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected over the region during the next 48 hours.

Sunrise was at 5:39am and sunset comes at 6:01pm.

The forecast was issued at 6am by forecaster Derrick Rudon.
