By Zoila Palma: Today, Mayor Bernard Wagner received a courtesy visit from Carmen Scarleth Ayón Neda, Ambassador of the Republic of Honduras to Belize.
“As one of only four embassies stationed in Belize City, and representing one of Belize’s closest regional neighbours, the Embassy of Honduras holds an important place within our diplomatic community,” the council said.
Discussions included exploring opportunities to formalize closer ties, including greater cultural exchange, shared initiatives and the possibility of establishing a sister-city partnership between Belize City and a Honduran municipality.
“The Belize City Council welcomes this opportunity to strengthen regional cooperation and develop meaningful relationships that benefit our people while celebrating the cultural connections between our countries,” the council added.
