Commissioner of Police continues visits in Division 3, highlights modernization and officer welfare

By Zoila Palma: Today, Commissioner of Police Dr. A. Richard Rosado continued his visit to Division Three of the Eastern Region, accompanied by senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Alden Dawson, Eastern Regional Commander ACP Reymundo Reyes and other commanders from the division.

During the engagement, Deputy Commissioner Dawson emphasized the importance of effective supervision in the field, particularly in communication, accountability and leadership.

Senior Superintendent D. Augustine also briefed officers on the Police Trust Fund, highlighting efforts to strengthen the fund and improve benefits available to police personnel, while stressing the importance of properly managing and safeguarding departmental resources.

Commissioner Rosado thanked officers for their continued work and dedication, while acknowledging the challenges created by limited resources across the Belize Police Department.

He also outlined the department’s modernization efforts, including the use of artificial intelligence, enhanced data systems, crime mapping and crime analysis tools.

Rosado further announced the upcoming launch of a 911 mobile application designed to provide officers with real-time information and support faster response times.

The Commissioner reiterated that the welfare of rank-and-file officers remains a priority, but reminded personnel that professionalism and individual conduct are personal responsibilities.
