Cassper Nyovest Sets The Tone For The 2026 SAMAs: ‘I’m Trying to Make This a Party.’ With just one week to go before South Africa’s biggest celebration of music, Cassper Nyovest says the reality of hosting the 2026 South African Music Awards is finally beginning to sink in.
Speaking to fans during a recent update, the award-winning rapper admitted that nerves have started creeping in ahead of taking the stage as master of ceremonies for the prestigious event. Despite the pressure, he says excitement has taken over as he prepares to lead one of the country’s biggest nights in entertainment.
“The SAMAs are next Saturday. We’re a week away. The nerves are kicking in, I’m not gonna lie, but I’m excited at the same time,” Cassper shared.
While acknowledging that he cannot transform every aspect of the awards overnight, the Kusho Bani hitmaker revealed that he has one clear mission: restoring the energy and excitement that many fans have associated with the SAMAs over the years.
“I’m trying to make this a party,” he said. “I’m trying to make sure that I bring the vibe back. I might not be able to change everything, but I wanna bring the vibe back.”
Cassper also spoke passionately about reviving the festive atmosphere that once surrounded the awards weekend in North West, where the ceremony will once again be held at Sun City. He believes the event deserves to feel like more than just an awards show, but rather a celebration that brings music lovers together.
“I wanna bring the biggest weekend in the North West back. And they got the right person,” he added confidently.
The rapper used the opportunity to encourage fans to secure their seats for the ceremony, revealing that tickets are available through TicketPro. He jokingly pleaded with supporters to fill the venue with familiar faces, saying he would much rather entertain an audience that genuinely wants to celebrate with him.
“I need the room to be filled with people that actually like me. I don’t want to be busy trying to be funny in a room full of people that actually don’t like me,” Cassper added.
Cassper ended his message by thanking everyone who has already purchased tickets and promised to see fans at Sun City for what he hopes will be a memorable edition of the South African Music Awards.
With anticipation building and one of South Africa’s biggest entertainers at the helm, all eyes will be on Sun City next Saturday to see whether Cassper Nyovest delivers on his promise to bring the party back to the SAMAs.
