By Zoila Palma: The Belize City Council on Friday, August 28, swore in 48 Enforcement Officers as Special Constables, marking a step toward strengthening public order and community safety in the city.
The newly appointed Special Constables will support enforcement of traffic, trade, liquor, littering and other municipal regulations across Belize City through the Council’s strengthened partnership with the Belize Police Department.
Councillor Edmund Kwan, responsible for Municipal Court, Enforcement and Internal Security, emphasized the importance of partnership, discipline and service in creating a safer and more orderly city.
City Administrator Dr. Candice Pitts and Commissioner of Police Dr. Anthony Rosado also highlighted the importance of professionalism, integrity, accountability and close coordination between the Council and police.
